Whether you’re backpacking the PCT, day hiking the Heather-Maple Pass Loop, or simply wanting to sightsee at Washington Pass and Diablo Lake, our Highway 20 “hop-on, hop-off” hiker shuttle is the perfect way to experience the best of North Cascades without a vehicle or having to worry about crowded trailhead parking lots!

Shuttle Details

  • Departure / Return: 8:00 AM / 6:00 PM

  • Dates: Saturdays & Sundays from July 13 - September 29

  • Pricing: $95 per person

  • Capacity: 10 passengers

  • Online reservations required: 24 hours notice

  • Meet-up location: Chuckanut Park and Ride (999N N Burlington Blvd, Burlington, WA 98233)

Shuttle Schedule

Eastbound Drop-offs

  • 10:00 AM: Easy Pass

  • 10:10 AM: Rainy Pass

  • 10:15 AM: Bridge Creek

  • 10:20 AM: Blue Lake

  • 10:25 AM: Washington Pass (20 min sightseeing stop)

  • 11:00 AM: Cutthroat

  • 11:30 AM: Mazama

    • Note: actual drop-off times may vary based on traffic, parking, and the number of hikers on board the shuttle.

Westbound Pick-ups

  • 12:30 PM: Mazama

  • 3:00 PM: Cutthroat

  • 3:10 PM: Blue Lake

  • 3:15 PM: Bridge Creek

  • 3:20 PM: Rainy Pass

  • 3:30 PM: Easy Pass

  • 4:00 PM: Diablo Lake Vista Point (20 min sightseeing stop)

    • Note: actual pick-up times may vary based on traffic, parking, and the number of hikers on board the shuttle.

One-way drive time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Sightseeing Itinerary (+ $50 per person add-on)

  • 10:25 AM - 10:45 AM: Sightseeing at Washington Pass (viewpoint)

  • 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Lunch stop at Mazama Store

  • 1:00 PM - 3:20 PM: Rainy Lake (2.0 miles out/back)

  • 4:00 PM - 4:20 PM: Diablo Lake (viewpoint)

Popular Day Hiking Options:

  • Option #1 - Difficult: 10:10 AM - 3:20 PM: Heather-Maple Pass Loop (7.2 mile loop) via Rainy Pass TH

  • Option #2 - Moderate: 10:20 AM - 3:10 PM: Blue Lake (4.4 miles out/back) via Blue Lake TH

  • Option #3 - Easier: 10:10 AM - 3:20 PM: Lake Ann (3.4 miles out/back) and/or Rainy Lake (2.0 miles out/back) via Rainy Pass Trailhead

  • Option #4 - Easier: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM: Cutthroat Lake (3.8 miles out/back)

Backpackers

Don’t worry about bringing two cars, doubling up the drive, and worrying about congested trailhead parking lots. We are the “ski lift on wheels” for backpackers in the North Cascades. You can book the Highway 20 Hiker Shuttle ($95 per hiker) for service on Saturdays and Sundays. Otherwise, we can assist with custom shuttles upon request 7 days per week starting at $400 for up to 10 hikers.

Trailhead Shuttle Options

  • Saturdays/Sundays: Highway 20 Hiker Shuttle ($95 per hiker)

  • Upon Request (7 days per week): Most trailheads in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie and Okanogan Wenatchee, which start at $400 for a 4 hour roundtrip based out of Mount Vernon.
